Ecologically Responsible Manufacturing

Egan Visual purchases veneer, hardwoods, MDF and particle board that is harvested from responsibly managed forests as designated by the Forest Stewardship Council, and are analyzed for optimum material usage. More information on the FSC can be found by visiting www.fsc.org.

Egan's ongoing commitment to environmental protection is based on seven basic fundamentals. These fundamentals are rigidly adhered to and monitored by the company's Environmental, Health and Safety Committee to gage their environmental impact.

  • Manufacturing process control
  • Material selection
  • Sustainable material sourcing
  • Air quality
  • Recyclable opportunities
  • Supplier adherence
  • Employee well being

Recent improvements include the reduction of emissions through the use of low emission coatings and water based coatings. This coating is applied in automated environments that eliminate over spray and minimize waste. These 'sealed system' environments heat cure the finish to eliminate 'open air' dry time.

Egan has never been cited for violations of the Clear Air or Clean Water Acts. Air quality testing is performed on a regular basis. Programs reduce waste as well as divert recyclable material to the appropriate recycling sites.

Recyclable corrugated paper is primarily used for product shipping. Packaging methods are continuously reviewed and redesigned to reduce excess.

Products delivered locally are blanket wrapped to reduce excess packaging waste. Direct shipments from Egan's plant are generally skidded and stretch wrapped with corner protection to minimize the amount of packaging material used.

Egan's head office and factory reduce waste by implementing recycling programs. Throughout the facilities there are receptacles for paper, glass and aluminum. Other measures Egan takes to be environmentally conscious are the proper disposal of hazardous wastes.

Employee staffed committees oversee all aspects of adherence and report to Senior Management.
